The Lounge is a space thats featured heavily at previous european hacker festivals, a place for people to relax away from the activity of villages, talks and workshops.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
At EMF we'll have a 144m2 tent dedicated to it.  It will be furnished with a carpet, tables, lamps and beanbags to give the feeling of a cosy and relaxed atmoshpere, a little bit like a living room of friends. The Lounge team will be going all out to make it as nautical themed as possible with nets, sails, ropes and all manner of nautical themed paraphernalia.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We'll have two installations for you to play with. A RGB spherical dome masquerading as an giant octopus and a 30x30 pixel screen you can tweet at to display images.&amp;lt;br&amp;gt; Simply follow [http://www.twitter.com/emfleds @emfleds] on twitter. Send a message with @emfleds and a 30x30 image and it will magically appear on our pixel screen.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Whilst supported by relaxing music, the visitors of the lounge can slowly unwind; its also a place meet up and chat, without the distractions of the main festival. After a well deserved pause, the combination of so many interesting people in a small area always ensures interesting conversation topics, light discussions or brainstorms about new projects. &amp;lt;br&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
We'll be open 24/7 during the festival and will provide power and internet for people to use inside.  So feel free to come along, take off your shoes and relax.&lt;br /&gt;

There are a number of roles that will need to be filled during the festival. We're still working on the software for assigning volunteer roles/shifts but below is an outline of what each role will involve to help you decide which teams you would like to sign up for. &lt;br /&gt;

There will also be a sign-up sheet in the Volunteer/Info tent during the festival with details of the roles that still need to be filled, so if you find yourself with a spare few minutes do pop over and see what's available&lt;br /&gt;

* Tidying the bar area&lt;br /&gt;

* Roving the site to ensure festival goers are safe and that no breaches in the Code of Conduct and site rules occur&lt;br /&gt;
* Operating the site lock-up&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
Please note that we will need volunteers in this role 24 hours a day and so we will need people to work the 'graveyard shift' too. &lt;br /&gt;

*Knowledge of site rules (which we can brief you on)&lt;br /&gt;
*Ability to work as part of a team&lt;br /&gt;
*A reasonable level of fitness&lt;br /&gt;

* Helping speakers set up for their talk&lt;br /&gt;
* Introducing the speaker to the audience&lt;br /&gt;
* Making sure speakers stick to the schedule.&lt;br /&gt;

* Be able to easily move around the site. &lt;br /&gt;
* Spend time watching specific talks as required. &lt;br /&gt;
* Have a way of telling the time and communicating this to speakers effectively should you need to. &lt;br /&gt;

* Help direct cars and caravans to the parking area&lt;br /&gt;
* Assist vehicles in parking&lt;br /&gt;

* Spatial awareness&lt;br /&gt;
* Ability to handle varying traffic volumes&lt;br /&gt;
* Ability to communicate with other teams&lt;br /&gt;
* Ability to give clear directions to drivers as to where to park&lt;br /&gt;
* Able to work in a team&lt;br /&gt;
* Must be sober&lt;br /&gt;

Specifically the Nanotechs Workshop Tent. Volunteers will be general assistants for whoever is running the workshop helping with:&lt;br /&gt;

* doing any running around needed&lt;br /&gt;
* register activities&lt;br /&gt;
For workshops with under-8s, parents/carers will be required to be present, so you won't be directly responsible for very young kids.&lt;br /&gt;

* Anyone DBS-checked within the past 3 years is of particular interest to the team, and it would be useful if you could please have your DBS certificates (physical or electronic copy) handy when you meet the team on site.&lt;br /&gt;
* Not all the volunteers need to be DBS checked to help with this team, so if you feel you can be of help do please sign up!&lt;br /&gt;

There will a variety of ad-hoc tasks that will need doing to help with the smooth running of the festival. Many of these will require shorter shifts than other roles so even if you only have a few minutes to spare do come and see if you can be of assistance! We will need help with:&lt;br /&gt;
* Restocking toilet rolls in the toilets&lt;br /&gt;
* Emptying rubbish bins&lt;br /&gt;
* Periodic checks of the toilets, and notifying us if there are any problems&lt;br /&gt;
* Morning and afternoon checks of the showers to ensure they are working, that hot water is running and that there are no issues with them&lt;br /&gt;

* Ability to move around site&lt;br /&gt;
* Cleaning skills&lt;br /&gt;
* Handling of cleaning products with basic personal protective equipment ie. rubber gloves&lt;br /&gt;
* Ability to carry sacks of rubbish&lt;br /&gt;
* Potentially working alone&lt;br /&gt;
