Although this is an amateur radio system you don't need a license to receive alerts ("talk xyz will start in 10 mins at blah"). Since the last EMF we have successfully used esp32 LoRa boards to receive pager messages and there is a howto [http://www.makerspace.org.uk/radio/mb7pmf Here] for anyone who has a suitable LoRa board and would like to use the servicce when it returns this year. 	Since last time when Alistair surreptitiously placed a LoRa station behind one of the orange "Loos" we've been working on our EMF creating abilities by reviving 3 dormant radio amateurs and creating 3 shiny new ones giving access to more spectrum and modulation types to play with.
