Publishing Your Village's Schedule

If you're running talks, workshops, games, meetups, or anything else they can be added to the online schedule so that people can find them and join in. These instructions will help you get that set up. Its a bit weird, but even if you're not actually hosting your thing in a village, you'll still need to [create a village] for it, because that's how we track where things are.

To do that you need an ical feed of your events. If you already know what that is, grab the URL, and add it at emfcamp.org/schedule/publish. If you have no idea what that means, read on, its really easy.

Creating a Feed with Google Calendar

The simplest way to do this is to use Google Calendar, assuming you have a Google account go to calendar.google.com, you should see something like this:

Click the + button above "My Calendars" (halfway down the left-hand side), and fill in some details about your village, making sure to set the timezone to GMT+1. Once that's done, add some events to the calendar.

Once that's done hover over the calendar in the list and click on the menu button to the right of the name.

Once you open the settings select to enable public sharing:

And finally scroll down until you find the "Public address in iCal format" box, and copy the link in there - you can take that link and drop it into emfcamp.org/schedule/publish. If the schedule changes, or you have new events, just update your Google Calendar and the schedule will update shortly afterwards.
